To Die or not to......

hmmm... a weird title for a post ..u bet... but a very serious mind twister.... i have alws been pro Euthanasia..mercy killing as it is popularly known.... in Washington the first person actually called off the supports under the assisted Suicide law..her name is Linda Fleming.. she was battling a terminal pancreatic cancer... as alws there are people protesting against this brave lady's act.. n i wonder why
i knw for a fact that death isnt the end, its a transition to another sphere.. a dimension not knwn so wel to the human mind ... but we all r souls .. n every soul knws for a fact it cant be destroyed..it jus moves on ... energy can neither be created nor destroyed...remember!!
so lets explore the connection betwn after life states n Euthenasia..... m gona be quoting Linda.... hoping she has found peace n her light ..... our lady wanted to call it off cos she had been thru enough already the exruciating pain her body couldn bear anylonger...... she said "since i m a very spiritual person..i want to be clear minded conscious n alert at the time of death....." the pain medication was kinda dulling her spirit n she wasn in control.... so u c its very important to invite the end n be in the right frame of mind before u pass on..i knw the accidents victims don have that choice... will come to that later....
our last impressions at the time of death are very strong they r wat in many ways decide our soul's journey... we must be able to accept our end not fear it n KNW FOR A FACT that its not the end... so why shouldn we be allowed to decide when we can pull off the supports... infact all terminally ill patients should be allowed to ....
the art of dying is as important as art of living.....
Linda was at peace when she passed on ..her physical body had withered but no her spirit.. m sure she saw the light, n was aware of wat was awaiting her....
i would continue this in my next post.... there r things i wana talk abt.. like the light..the spirit guides... n a lot more...
catch ya!!

Your statement "The art of dying is as important as the art of living" rings so true to me...I was by my mother's side at her passing...She died in my arms with most of the family surrounding...it was a quiet, peaceful, beautiful experience for which I'm grateful.

Myself too have always been pro Euthanasia. When the state of living is where one cannot experience any of the joys of actually living or the pain becomes unbearable, when a person states that they would rather let go, it's their choice to make and I believe it should be respected, of course case to case !

Soul, death, passing onto the next realms are questions that have always weighed on my mind for I have no experience of any of it, but a hope that the Soul exists. It's the Soul that is our truest form holding within it, all that we feel and live, as you say an energy that cannot be ever destroyed...

Serious stuff !! Would like to hear more from u about the same .

The only reason that comes to my mind on why people would oppose mercy killing is attachment. The person who is undergoing all this knows better of course, but for everyone who is related to the dying, there is always hope against hope, for a miracle. That the condition might just improve. That they will become whole again. Even though many are aware that death is not the end, they still want to experience so much, achieve so much that they don't want to die.

This post brings to my mind Dr. Weiss' writings. It is so calming to read all that. But we have to keep reminding ourselves of the same. Thanks for having done that Nups :)

hey Adisha
hmmm...well u dont have to go too far to understand the soul concept cos thats wat u r.... like the kidney n lungs u carry within ... u don c them but they r there..working all the time..soul is jus a level deeper.. ok say have u ever wondered that theres smthng within u that hasn changed over the years.... u were 6 yrs old n the adisha then ...16 yrs... 20 yrs... 26... u grew chronologically but did u wonder smthng in u hasn really changed ..if fact it has only witnessed u grow.... thats ur soul... thats u.......

hey Stillness...
well no denying in the power of miracles... n in trying til ur last breath to hang on to threads of life.. granted! but suffering n seeing who u love suffer is so heart wrenching.... u'd rather free them of it... a person usually has a premonition abt the end.. n then they shud be let free... cos it tkaes time to accept the end... u sud knw wat u getting into ... makes it easier to find ur way into the light

Very interesting point you've got there... though I don't quite agree when you say "we know for a fact" that there is a transition which occurs after death. Of course, anyone would hope for that... It would amount to pessimism in its extreme to believe that death is actually "the end"... it rings with a rather morbid finality!

However, the fact is, we can't be positively sure... the existence of spirituality, and indeed, the "other" intangible realm is a very big mystery. And so, since we don't know, we have to make do with what we have, which is, the present life.

hi there Darklord :)
interesting name!! well when i say i knw for sure wat makes u thnk i dont..maybe i shud have replaced we for i...but nevertheless the point remains... ever heard of past life regression.. karmic theory... do read it..n u'l knw why m so sure... its a great journey to embark upon... do invest time to get to knw it.... i don think we shud jus hang our boots n say "since we dont knw" its a pivotal question about our existance n we should make an attempt to figure out...wat say!! thanks for deopping by though :)

Nups,

I agree with you. A time comes when a person wants to go peacefully in full senses as he or she realises that there is nothing more in life.

Take care

Dropping by your blog has been a "one-of-a-kind" experience, the pleasure is all mine! The topics you choose, and more importantly, your way of composing are really thought provoking..besides being lucid and very much enlightening. :) Hope you post more often!
Returning to the topic at hand.. Spirituality and afterlife are vast subjects with layers and layers of intricate etherealism.. To speak of such terms in a definitive manner merits a lot of discussion, I daresay! Of course, their existence, though ufathomable, is a foregone conclusion.. However, to comprehend even a fraction of their vast scope with our limited resources is quite a formidable task! Aren't we all mundane drops tousling erratically in a vast, cruel and chaotic ocean of unknowns..
The concept of karma can be viewed or interpreted from a lot many perspectives... Some believe of its relevance in the afterlife or some, on "Judgement day"... while some say that it has its relevace in the present life itself, as the future unfolds. So, it gets a bit confusing to us mere mortals, you see :)
Past life regression is not without its share of controversies.. But, being optimistically oriented, it gives hope for a definite continuity!

hi there Darklord...
well i jus love ur blogname feels m talking to the forces jus out of Harry potter :)
well... the existance is unfathomable ..i agree but its for us to figure it out... don u think so... ok lets say arent u ever intrigued why some stuff happens... y do we love n loose... haven u ever felt ur soul within..there are moments in life which compel u to question this emphemeral existance... stop for a minute... at times in the rush n hum-drum to comrehend we don hear the voice within.... don look outside for tangible proof ..evrythng beautiful in universe is intangible ..n so r the answere to our existance Darklord :) its a quest worth pursuing..trust me... n the universe helps u when u set ur heart to it...it did help me...
